Hi, I’m Cindy a.k.a. Ms. Grasshopper.

How did everything start?

I was born and raised in Vietnam, and my food journey began when I was 12 and my mom had just asked me to cook dinner for her and dad. Obviously, I’ve got help but that’s when I found out that I love cooking for others.

The struggle was real when I started to move to the States for school and barely spoke any English, and on top of that, it was my first time living with “strangers”.

But living with someone else rather than my parents, forced me to cook and eat alone a lot. I started to cook for myself at first, but then my little sister moved in with me and became my first customer.

College was where I really developed a big love for cooking. Cooking for myself was easy; cause I just cooked whatever I wanted and did not have to worry about other thoughts and opinions. But the first time cooking for my friends, seeing their eyes light up, and the “yummm” sound they made when they tried the food was very satisfying.

I started to cook more for my friends, and they started asking for recipes. That’s when I think I should write it all down and share.

Maybe someone will read it, or perhaps they won’t. Who knows. But if you do, Enjoy!

I am currently based in Saigon, Vietnam.
