Home

Lots of people asked me, why do you move around so much? Don’t you get tired from all that moving? Don’t you like where you lived before? What happened?

The answer is I moved for the experiences, I do get tired of moving, and I’m ok with where I lived before, but never truly happy or wanted to call it home.

The whole moving thing started when I was little, I moved houses at least 5 times until I was 14 and I moved to Houston, Texas for high school. I never knew why we moved around so much when I was little, the answers I got were always because we lived too far from my school.

After high school, I followed my family to North Carolina and lived there for a couple of months before moving to Savannah, Georgia to college. I was accepted to Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in Fashion Marketing and Management, with a minor in Fashion Design. And since Savannah is only a 4-5 hour drive from North Carolina, I could always drive home whenever I have breaks.

Savannah has its charms; all the historical houses in the historical district, the local boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants. Everything was beautiful but then since the city is small, so it wasn’t very different from a town. There are tourists everywhere, the springtime is miserable because of the pollen.

During the time I was in college, I went to New York a few times, to visit my friends. I always stayed for at least 3 weeks to a month and a half sometimes. I love New York, I’ve never been to another city that is as bustling as New York. At every corner, there is always something going on, it’s very exciting everyday live in New York, it’s truly the city that never sleeps. Metro in New York is very interesting to figure out, you could go everywhere with the metro, and of course, walking in New York is a must, you could encounter interesting things that you didn’t plan for the day.

San Francisco was one of the places I went to during my college time too, it was to visit friends as well. San Francisco is very different from New York, completely. It’s much calmer, people live much healthier, and it’s so much more difficult to walk because of all the hills. San Francisco had a lot of interesting too, it felt like there was a little mix between Savannah and New York in one place.

After San Francisco, I came to Orange County for a job interview, and after a month, I decided to stay. Compared to other places, whether is it on the East Coast or in San Francisco, the weather in SoCal is so much more comfortable. Asian food here is cheaper and better too haha. I don’t know how long I’ll be staying in California, probably if I find something that I love I will have an excuse to stay longer. I don’t know where I’m going next but for now, let’s just call California, home.
